2. What does it take to BECOME AN EX?
Tobacco addiction is complex, and over time it works its way into almost
every aspect of your life. Digging it out will take some thinking, a
plan and then effort.

3. Mary Quits Smoking
Mary, too, is a real person — an office worker from Washington, D.C.
This is her fourth attempt at quitting. Her story was documented over
the course of four weeks during the summer. You can watch Mary make a
plan and become an EX, all on camera. Some of the steps in her plan are
obvious, while others take more thought. But none of them are
impossible.
Get an idea of what’s involved in starting your own EX Quit Plan program
from Mary's experiences.

4. JUST THE FACTS:
- The incidences of youth physically attacking others, stealing,
and destroying property increased in proportion to the number of
days marijuana was smoked in the past year.
- Marijuana users were twice as likely as non-users to report they
disobeyed school rules.
- Of those students who reported threatening someone with a gun,
knife or club or threatening to hit, slap or kick someone during the
2005-2006 school year, 27% also reported using marijuana, 7.8%
reported using cocaine and 6.2% reported using crystal meth in the
past year.
- During the 2005-2006 school year, of those students who reported
any trouble with the police, 39.6% also reported using marijuana,
12.2% reported using cocaine, and 9%
reported using crystal meth in the past year.

5. Effects of Drivers' License Suspension Policies on
Alcohol-Related Crash Involvement
The researchers found laws
that imposed a license suspension immediately after an offense was
committed reduced the numbers of alcohol-related fatal car accidents by
5 percent, which could amount to at least 800 lives saved annually. The
law had the same effect on drinking drivers whether they were below or
above the legal limit for blood alcohol concentration.
