Learn About The Run
Before you try to teach you must know what you will be presenting. If you are staging The Run for the community we recommend that you go with a 1 mile fun run/walk. For kids who want the thrill of crossing the finish line consider a quarter mile run (that is once around a typical track) and then have them do the mile with their parents. You will get lots of exposure in your community. If you are giving The Run to a school in your neighborhood you may do best to work with an elementary school. Consider adding The Run as part of the school's field day or as part of Red Ribbon Week. The school can also stage The Run any day that suits their schedule. We strongly urge you to work with other businesses to raise enough money so that you can give the school the event and each student can have a T-shirt and medal. This will not only get you well known at the school but also with the businesses. When staging The Run at a school it is a good idea to have the kids run more than just a lap. It is a good message of physical fitness and will make the day far more memorable. Some things to consider:
Be sure to let the school know how they can use this as a fundraiser.
You will be giving the school an event that will help them raise $50,000 or more while bringing an empowering message about drugs to their students and in the process your's will become a household name on campus
