OWLS which stands for Orphans Without Love or Shelter  is a group founded by Nick Simon a teenager from Florida.  Well actually he spend his first five years in an orphanage in Romania until he was adopted by Connie Simon.  When Nick saw a 20/20 report on Romanian orphans he was shocked to see them homeless and finding shelter in sewers.  So he decided to do something about it.

Nick collected several hundred backpacks filled with last years clothes and other things a homeless kid would need and they are on their way to Romania.  Problem is that Romania is not the only place with homeless kids.   There are even one million of them right here in America.

So Nick needs your help to get a carepak to everykid in the world who needs one.  Just take last years backpack and fill it with last years clothes that you grew out of.  You can include hats, gloves, sweaters, jackets even underware and socks.  It may not fit you but someone else will be glad to get it.   Add anything else a homeless kid can use ( no perishables because it can take months to get these delivered).  For a check list of things to add just click here.

One more thing.  Take a picture of you and your family and include that.  When the backpack gets to OWLS they will make your picture into a pin that can be worn on a jacket or the backpact.   Add some good intentions to the picture as this is the one link that child will have with you.  With this picture they will be able to say that someone loves them.
